That&#8217;s right, <em>correctly</em>!  Is there is a <em>wrong</em> way to wash your hands?  Of course there is, you say.  We&#8217;ve all seen it.  People not washing hands before exiting the public bathroom (hopefully not food service staff, but anyway&#8230;), the quick splash (for looks only), or those that do wash but then grab the door handle picking up the germs of the last person who <em>didn&#8217;t</em> wash.<span id="more-271"></span></p>
<p>Then, what is the best way to wash?  <a href="http://www.cleaning101.com/index.cfm" title="The Soap and Detergent Association" target="_blank">The Soap and Detergent Association</a> and New York State Department of Health have teamed up to provide a new Handwashing Poster, and this poster offers a great tip for knowing that you&#8217;ve had your hands in the soap and water long enough.  From the poster, &#8220;Good handwashing takes 20 seconds, or the time  it takes to sing one verse of Old MacDonald Had a Farm.&#8221;  Click <a href="http://www.skaneatelesdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/hand-wash-poster1.jpg" rel="lightbox" title="Handwashing poster">here</a> to view the poster, and don&#8217;t hesitate to sing proudly before you leave that public bathroom, since you&#8217;ll know that you&#8217;re helping create a more sanitary world.</p>
