I thought that this photo was unique when I viewed it, because it&#8217;s possible to actually see the height of the Earth&#8217;s atmosphere from an angle.  This image was taken from Discovery during the STS-96 mission in 1999. <p><a href="http://www.nasa.gov/vision/space/travelinginspace/no_ufo.html" title="NASA - UFO No Longer Unidentified - Apollo 16" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.skaneatelesdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/nasa-ufo-debunked.jpg" style="padding-left: 8px" alt="Apollo 16 UFO debunked by NASA" align="right" border="0" /></a>Conspiracy theorists often accuse NASA, the US Air Force and sometimes even the President himself of actively obfuscating evidence relating to UFO or extraterrestrial visits to planet Earth.  Well, here&#8217;s a case where NASA has done a good job, in my opinion, disproving a specific UFO claim that was associated with the Apollo 16 mission.  In this case, the purported UFO in question turned out to be the EVA floodlight/boom used for spacewalks.
