I heard this (Song title: How Much it Hurts) on a burned CDR that my daughter had left in our car, one of her thousand burned CDR disks! I’ve learned from experience that there isn’t one single artist or song that I can come up with that she hasn’t already heard, and likely acquired. Click here to watch the video. The band’s official website is here. You can also listen to a longer version by clicking the audio player below

Here’s a strange UFO (or extra terrestrial) related story. A Mexican policeman had a strange encounter in Monterrey, N.L. Mexico that involved a “flying humanoid entity.” It was on 3:16am on January 16, 2004 when police officer Leonardo Samaniego from Guadalupe, N.L. Mexico was doing his daily rounds in his patrol car when he witnessed a black object fall from a tree beside the street shortly after turning onto Alamo Street. According to Samaniego, the black object stopped just before touching the ground, slowly landed and then turned itself to face the police car.

I had seen this video on YouTube.com some time ago, but when it was first released it didn’t include the scifi.com/happens leader and trailer, and I remember thinking, “what the heck is this?” Then, reading the comments, someone had mentioned that the scifi channel had released this as a promotional clip. Watch the clip here. Another interesting thing about the clip is that the trade center towers in NYC are shown, which probably explains why scifi.com has removed the clip from their website, though it still remains in many versions on YouTube.com

Time and time again studies have shown that if cities really wanted to make traffic crossings safer there’s a very simple way to do so: increase the length of the yellow light and make sure there’s a pause before the cross traffic light turns green. There are even legal limits as to how short the duration of a yellow light can be. According to Motorists.org, six US cities have been caught shortening their yellow light lengths for profit, since short lengths of the yellow at intersections have been shown to increase the number of traffic violations. The cities in question are Union City, CA, Dallas and Lubbock, TX, Nashville and Chattanooga, TN, Springfield, MO, and these are just the ones that have been caught. Read more about it here on the Motorists.org website.
