Revealing NASA photo of Earth’s atmosphere

By: Cary Briel, Skaneateles Design

Image of Earth’s atmosphere - NASAYou’re probably familiar with seeing images of the Earth from space that seem two-dimensional with respect to how flat the earth’s surface appears. I thought that this photo was unique when I viewed it, because it’s possible to actually see the height of the Earth’s atmosphere from an angle. This image was taken from Discovery during the STS-96 mission in 1999. Click here for the high-resolution, full size version.

NASA debunks UFO claim, credibly

By: Cary Briel, Skaneateles Design

Apollo 16 UFO debunked by NASAConspiracy theorists often accuse NASA, the US Air Force and sometimes even the President himself of actively obfuscating evidence relating to UFO or extraterrestrial visits to planet Earth. Well, here’s a case where NASA has done a good job, in my opinion, disproving a specific UFO claim that was associated with the Apollo 16 mission. In this case, the purported UFO in question turned out to be the EVA floodlight/boom used for spacewalks. See the related NASA page here for detailed images, diagram and explanation.
